How to Find or Create a Hockey Canada (HCR) Number
Every player registered in minor hockey in Canada must have a Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) Number. This number stays with your player for life and is required for registration each season.
Below are simple steps to either find an existing HCR number or create a new one.
How to find your child’s Hockey Canada # (HCR#)
If your child has previously played in sanctioned hockey in Canada they will already have an HCR # and you can use the below steps to locate that number and keep in on hand to complete your registration.
Step 1: Go to the Spordle Account Page
Visit: https://account.spordle.com
Step 2: Log In
- Use the email address you previously used to register your player
- If you forgot your password, click “Forgot Password”
Step 3: View your linked family members
- Click on members on the left side
- Select the initials of the child you are looking for
- Look for any (red !) indicators beside any linked members for actions items that need completing
Step 4: Finding an HCR #
- Once you have clicked on a members initials you will see their full name, the players home association will be listed next and under that you will see HCR#. Copy this and have it on hand for registration
Step 5: Check child’s Qualifications – Respect in Sport/Shift Forward Program
- Parents/guardians of all players registered with Hockey Alberta are required to have at least one valid parent education certification on file. Hockey Alberta currently recognizes either the Respect in Sport – Parent Program or the new Shift Forward Program.
- If you have previously completed the Respect in Sport program and your certification has not yet expired, you do not need to complete the Shift Forward Program at this time. Once your Respect in Sport certification expires, you will then be required to complete the Shift Forward Program to remain eligible for registration.
- Families who do not currently have a valid Respect in Sport certification or Shift Forward certification will be required to complete the Shift Forward Program prior to registration being approved.
- IF YOUR CERTIFICATION IS EXPIRED OR YOU HAVE NOT TAKEN EITHER RESPECT IN SPORT OR SHIFT FORWARD PLEASE CLICK HERE TO PROCEED TO STEP THREE OF REGISTRATION.

Important Note About Registration
Due to limited ice availability within our community, FSMH has limited registration capacity in each division. Once a division reaches capacity, families will have the option to register for the waitlist or contact FSMH to discuss any additional options that may be available.
We understand that this can be frustrating for families, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work within the ice availability provided to our association. It is our understanding that plans for an additional arena facility in Fort Saskatchewan are being considered in the coming years, which we hope will help support the continued growth of hockey within our community.
